The Birthday Party

1	2	(1) It was my birthday, so if I wanted to cry, I could have, but I didn't, so I didn't. Then I woke up and saw the mess I had to clean up! (2) At least Trevor got a little action. (3) Judith, Steve, and correct me if I'm wrong, the sexiest damn shoulder at IBM today. (4) Before the party, Larry kept waffling about whether to wear his newly acquired Jethro Tull t-shirt. Unbeknown to him, Laura was to about to upstage him with her Adam Ant t-shirt. (5) Larry did a good job of hiding his embarrassment, but (6) did not do as good of a job arguing about AC/DC with the two Dougs. (7) Jessica Dowshen: some assembly required. (8) Which is the correct caption: (a) Peek-a-boo! (b) I am the Dark Master of Hell! (c) Do I see cupcakes? Answer: (b) I am the Dark Master of Hell, one of the inexplicably numerous Satan references in the evening. (9) "So Laura, how did the AC/DC debate go?" Come to think of it, maybe they were talking about Van Halen. (10) Award for longest distance travelled: Olli and friend from Finland. (11) Liz, me, and Cara. Cara would later jot down starter lyrics for me on a paper plate, but I don't know what happened to it. Liz would later go on to co-star in her own party pic with (12) Suzie, who herself would later appear on the aforementioned paper plate as a rhyme for "shoes". (13) Jim, one of many rock stars in attendance. (You mean you didn't see Iggy?) Rumors of a Strokes appearance definitely had a positive effect on the boy-girl ratio. (14) They didn't have to smoke outside, but I think it was too warm inside with all the cooking. (15) Jordan tries to show Olli that Americans are masters of the rock cliche, despite a sporting effort by the Swedes. (16) Get this drunken Chinaman off me. (17) Doug asks us, the brother man, if we can dig it. (18) Cigarette in mouth = tough. Lollipop in mouth = nice. (19) Trevor, put that away! (20) Jung. I thought I'd try to take this without a flash, but it just ended up looking like I was really drunk. Oh, right. (21) Jung, taken with steadier hands. (22) In my homage to Hitchcock, I tried to get into every picture. Here I am in Liz #2's picture. (23) What Alexander doesn't know is that tonight is the last night for the glass in Larry's hand. It would meet a grisly demise after a 5 foot drop, dispersing itself all over the floor and into places where brooms could not reach, like under the couches. (24) Someday I will get over my obsession with the "night-time exposure" mode and say so long to the streaks from the light. (25) Seriously, get this drunken Chinaman off of me. (26) Olli is cracked up; friend is skeptical. What can I say, some things get lost in the translation. (27) Last time Erin and I took a picture together, she complained that her head looked too big. Now who's got the big head? (28) Jordan Mamone, freelance writer...and werewolf! (29) "Der, which roommate?" (30) Sean and Mark administer traditional birthday noogee. Must be an upstate thing. (31) Yeah, yeah, Billberg in the house, go home. (32) Not-big-headed Erin and not-taking-a-dump Larry. (33) Tamara and Andrew. Andrew and I had a great talk about the Minutemen the other night, so I have nothing mean to say about him. (34) Liz #2 (who actually arrived long before Liz #1, but somehow didn't get in the pictures until later) and Jung are smiling now, but not only did they get the pleasure of crashing on our couches, but they also got to help us clean up. Some girls have all the luck. (35) Lisa and Alexander. Is this a good time to mention that I'm still hung over?
