Dragon Boat races, Flushing, summer 2002

Dragon boats are the Chinese version of crew shells, the main difference being that crews are paced by a beating drum instead of a megaphone. Races are a pleasing cacophony of plinking drums.

Our friend's team won their race and did a victory dance, for lack of a better word. Note the ducks in one of the pictures.
